Me creating it for someone or myself, that special someone that put their trust in me to create and capture that special photograph and you dear visitor who just want to browse through my work, spend a little of your precious time or maybe planning to have your special day or special someone or just you photographed. Well, what ever brought you here, I welcome you and hope that your stay will be enjoyable!

If its Stampede than there has to be a photo shoot at the Stampede grounds. Although I really dont like going down to the grounds, to me its just too busy, too crowded...too hot. However if an engagement shoot or as I call it my De La Soul session happens to be on one of those days, than its a must going down and doing a cool shoot. This year Sarah & Shaun were my subjects. Although Stampede is all colors I still wanted to do some B&W and I really like the look of this series. They both had a fantastic chemistry and I had a good time capturing it!

A few ago weeks I met a really cool couple who are planning to get married this year on July 1st. Although they were not engaged yet. They actually booked me as their photographer before Jeff proposing to Lisa. I talked to Jeff and suggested that I would like to be part of the surprise, when he proposes. Yesterday, Sunday the 12th of February was the day. We decided that most likely Fish Creek Park by the Ranch would be a good location at 11 am there would not be to many people or photographers at the certain location we picked. Well, it was a nice warm day, I got there 30 minutes earlier to find the best spot where I could hide. While waiting I see other couples and photographers arriving before mine and eye balling the spot that I picked!  :)
I had to ask them if it would be ok, for a few minutes and left this spot open for me, thanks Samantha and Zev for being so accommodating. I had to jump out of my hiding spot all the time to secure our position. I was almost as nervous as Jeff proposing, you cant go wrong with the photos its a one time thing. I guess my sniper training came in hand for scouting out the best location for the shot! Yes I was in the military when I was younger!
Hiding behind a tree on a ridge shooting with my 300mm 2.8 lens and extender, I got the photos that I wanted and witnessed now for the 2nd time (other couple) a live proposal!
Congratulation guys, I had a fun day with both of you, can not wait for the wedding. The short video with a few photos is their invitation to their families and friends who will now for the first time here about it on Valentines Day!

At night in New York feel e-session, that's what Eric & Liezl wanted, since we are in Calgary and if you have seen New York before, we are not even close to what Time Square or Manhattan has to offer so here are a few shots of what we did yesterday with this fun couple, we made the best of what this city has to offer for night shots downtown!

Enjoy!

As usual most of my work comes from referrals, Scott & Juliana was part of a family that saw my slideshow last year. If I remember correctly it was Scott who thought about hiring me for his wedding, usually the guys just get tagged along. It is always the most amazing thing when you impress a man more than a woman, specially with wedding photography.
I met them a few times at my house and tried to read them get a feel for them, I dont think I actually succeeded until the engagement session and even than, it could have gone 2 ways. They were always very laid back...super artsy and I always thought of them as two surfers or snow boarders. Yet with all the fun we had during the e-session it was fantastic to see the great LOVE between the two of them.

So...sure there was fun, LOVE and jumping and craziness and masks...that lasted till the end of the wedding day. It was different and it was very good to make those creative energies bring out the best. What would you do with a pair of masks? Well, create something special like old school art! Thats what we did.
